Dr. Jan Akervall completed his training at the University Hospital in Lund, Sweden obtaining both MD and PhD degrees. He then completed fellowship training in Head and Neck Cancer reconstruction at University of Michigan. While practicing in Sweden, Dr. Akervall directed the management of Head and Neck cancer for the Southern half of his country.

July 12th, 2018: Doctor Seymour and the Acclarent TruDi team are the first in Michigan to perform sinus surgery using a true 3-Dimensional image guidance navigation system. The TruDi system is an electromagnetic image-guided navigation system designed for endoscopic sinus procedures. The system uses the patient’s pre-operative CT scan to provide a road map or a “GPS” for the sinuses enabling the surgeon to provide a safer and more complete sinus surgery.
